HEADLINE EVENTS

Bhutan Days

UTEP's relationship with Bhutan began with architecture in 1917 and evolved over time to include Bhutanese students studying at UTEP; research and study-away opportunities in Bhutan; an international opera performance as part of the Centennial Celebration; and an annual celebration in the spring known as 'Bhutan Days.' Many connections to Bhutan can be found on campus in a wide variety of artifacts, many of which are highlighted during the Bhutan Days celebration, first held in 2005. Bhutan Days is an opportunity for students, faculty, staff and the greater El Paso community to learn about the unique relationship between UTEP and the country of Bhutan and the rich culture and traditions of a Himalayan kingdom located along the northeast frontier of India, just above Bangladesh.
