MINER MEAL PROGRAM

Estimates from several Sodexo employees suggest that roughly 200 plates of food are discarded each week from the Pick N Shovel. At the same time, a 2023 study conducted by Dr. Eva Moya and Dr. Greg Schober found that 61% of UTEP students experience food insecurity. While prepared meals are being discarded on campus, many students struggle to secure a reliable source of food.
