Know Before You Go

We’re excited to support you on your journey back to UTEP! The Welcome Back Event (WBE) is designed for students who have previously stopped out and are ready to take the next step toward re-enrollment.

What You Can Expect

At this event, you’ll have access to:

  • Re-application assistance
  • Academic advising
  • Financial aid guidance

Our team will be available to answer your questions and help you create a clear path forward.

How to Prepare

To make the most of your visit, we recommend bringing:

  • A valid photo ID
  • Your student ID number, if available
  • Any questions about your academic or financial status

Important: Financial Holds

Please be aware that your current account status may impact the services available during the event.

  • Students with an outstanding balance over $500
  • OR accounts that have been sent to collections, may not be eligible to receive academic advising at this time.

Even if you have a balance or hold, we encourage you to attend. You will still be able to:

  • Speak with staff about your account and next steps
  • Explore payment options and available resources
  • Begin planning your return once your hold is resolved

You can begin or complete your re-application at the event. Final enrollment steps may depend on your academic and financial status.

Registration eligibility depends on completing the re-application process and clearing any holds on your account.

Yes, advising is available during the event. However, students with balances over $500 or accounts in collections will need to resolve those holds before receiving advising.

You are still encouraged to attend. Staff will help you understand your balance, discuss options and guide you on next steps.

No problem! Staff can assist you in looking up your information with a valid ID.

A photo ID is recommended. Bringing any relevant academic or financial documents may also be helpful but is not required.

It varies by student, but plan to spend at least 30–60 minutes depending on the services you need
